Facial Volume Loss

When your cheeks lose that soft, lifted look.

You look in the mirror and something feels a little flatter than it used to. The cheeks aren't as full, the midface looks a touch tired, and makeup settles into spots it never used to. It's such a normal part of aging, and you're so not alone. The good news? There's a lot we can do to gently bring back that softness, and for most people it still looks completely natural.

CONCERN & CAUSES

Why the Face Loses Volume

Volume loss isn't just about skin. Underneath, the fat pads, collagen, and even bone that give your face its shape all change with time. When that support fades, the cheeks flatten and everything can start to drift downward a little.

01

Fat Pad Shrinkage

Your face has cushions of fat that keep the cheeks looking full and lifted. Over time these pads shrink and shift, which can leave the midface looking flatter and a little hollow for many people.

02

Collagen Decline

Collagen is the scaffolding that keeps skin firm and bouncy. We naturally make less of it each year, so the skin gets thinner and has less of that plump, supported feel underneath.

03

Bone Changes

It surprises people, but the bone structure of the face slowly resorbs with age too. Less underlying support means the cheeks and surrounding areas can lose their natural projection over time.

04

Gravity & Time

As the deeper support fades, gravity does its thing and tissue settles lower. That's why restoring volume higher up can soften folds and give the whole face a refreshed, rested look for most people.

Treatment Benefits

Gentle volume options for the midface in Innisfil

Restoring volume isn't about adding more, it's about adding it in the right places. Your provider assesses your face structure first, maps where the support has faded, then recommends the approach that fits. Sometimes that's instant filler, sometimes it's a collagen stimulator that builds gradually. No pressure, just a real plan for your skin.

Dermal Filler

Dermal Filler

Hyaluronic acid filler injected at the right depth to replace volume where fat pads and support have faded.

Sculptra

Sculptra

An injectable collagen stimulator that encourages your skin to rebuild its own collagen over time.

Radiesse

Radiesse

A calcium-based filler that adds volume on the spot and stimulates your skin's own collagen as it integrates.

Cheek Filler

Cheek Filler

Targeted hyaluronic acid filler placed in the cheeks to restore projection and midface support.

How to protect your results after volume treatment

Volume work looks its best when your skin is healthy and well looked after. Fresh filler needs a little time to settle, and collagen stimulators keep building for weeks. These simple habits protect your barrier and help your results last for most people.

Cleanse Gently

Cleanse Gently

Use a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser with lukewarm water and a soft touch for the first few days. It keeps treated skin calm while any swelling settles down.

Support Collagen

Support Collagen

Once your skin is happy, a medical-grade retinol can support the same collagen turnover that helps volume treatments last. Build it in slowly, and keep it consistent rather than aggressive.

Hydrate the Barrier

Hydrate the Barrier

Hydrated, resilient skin holds volume results beautifully. Layer a hyaluronic acid serum under your moisturiser to keep skin plump and supported between visits.

Be Gentle Early On

Be Gentle Early On

Skip firm facial massage, hot saunas, and intense workouts for a day or two after filler so it can settle where it's placed. Soothing, hydrating masks are a lovely yes.

Protect Daily

Protect Daily

Broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher, reapplied every couple of hours outdoors, protects your skin's collagen and your results. Sun breaks down collagen, so daily protection really matters.

FAQ

Common questions about
facial volume restoration

That's the worry we hear most, and we totally get it. The goal is always to look like a rested version of you, not someone else. Your provider places volume conservatively and naturally, and we'll always check in with you along the way. For most people the result is subtle. Friends notice you look fresh, not done.

Great question. Filler adds volume right away, so you see the change immediately. Sculptra works more gradually by helping your own skin rebuild collagen over a series, so it builds up slowly and naturally. Your provider will help you figure out which fits your skin and your goals at your consult.

It really depends on the treatment and your skin. Hyaluronic acid filler can last many months to a couple of years for a lot of people, and collagen stimulators like Sculptra can last even longer. Results vary, and we'll give you a realistic timeline before we start.

Usually very little. Some swelling, tenderness, or a little bruising can happen for a few days, depending on the treatment. We'll walk you through exactly what to expect so you can plan around any events. Most people get right back to their day.

Most people find it very manageable. Many of our fillers include a numbing agent, and we can use extra numbing where it helps. If you're nervous, just tell us and we'll go at your pace. We've got you the whole time.

With filler you'll see a difference right away, though it settles over a week or two as any swelling calms down. Collagen stimulators build more gradually over weeks to months. We'll check in along the way to make sure you're tracking nicely.
