What dermaplaning can help with

Here's where it shines

dull tired looking skin

Dull, tired-looking skin

When dead skin builds up on the surface, your face can look flat and a little grey. Sweeping that layer away can help your skin look fresher and more lit-from-within for most people.

Treatments+

We use a sterile blade to gently exfoliate the top layer of dull, dead skin. That usually leaves the surface smoother and brighter, with a glow a lot of people notice the same day.

Causes+

Slower cell turnover, dry weather, and a buildup of dead skin can all leave your complexion looking tired and lacklustre over time.

Settling in

Week 1 · soft and refreshed

Over the first week your skin keeps feeling soft and looking fresh, and your skincare can absorb better. Most people love how easily makeup goes on. How long the glow lasts can vary a little from person to person.

Time to rebook

Week 4-6 · keep the glow going

Because your skin renews on its own cycle, the fuzz and dull surface gradually come back. A lot of people rebook every 4 to 6 weeks so the smoothness and brightness can keep building. We'll find a rhythm that fits you.

What the Beauty Club says

A few words from our Innisfil and Barrie clients.

Natasha has completely mastered the art of combining a results-driven medical treatment without sacrificing the relaxation of a traditional facial treatment. Instead of just waiting around during masks or product activations, she uses that time to melt away every ounce of tension you are holding by adding scalp and shoulder massages. I left with glowing, deeply treated skin and my mind and body super relaxed.

Good questions

Your dermaplaning questions,
answered

Everything you might be wondering before your first visit. Still curious about something? Just ask us.

Not at all. It's a gentle, painless scrape that a lot of our clients find relaxing, almost like a facial. There are no needles and no numbing needed. If your skin is feeling extra sensitive, just tell us and we'll adjust.

Nope, and we promise this is a myth. Dermaplaning removes fine vellus hair (the peach fuzz), which grows back exactly the same as before, no thicker and no darker. The hair type and colour don't change just because it was removed at the surface.

For most people the smooth, fuzz-free feel lasts around 3 to 4 weeks, since that's roughly how long your skin takes to renew. A lot of our clients rebook every 4 to 6 weeks to keep the glow going. Results vary, so we'll find a rhythm that fits your skin.

Our single dermaplaning facial and our Enhanced version (with extra skin-loving steps) are each priced on our Jane menu. We'll always confirm the right option and the full price with you before we start, so there are no surprises. Beauty Club members get member pricing too.

Not really. You can head right back to your day with smooth, glowy skin. Your skin can feel a touch more sensitive for a day or two, so we ask you to wear sunscreen and skip strong actives, saunas, and heavy sweating for about 24 to 48 hours.

Every 4 to 6 weeks works well, since that matches your skin's natural renewal cycle. Some clients do it before special events for a flawless makeup base, and others keep it on a steady schedule. We'll suggest a timing that suits your skin and your goals.

We usually suggest giving your skin a little breather right after, so it can settle. Once it has, makeup goes on beautifully, and most people love how smooth and even it looks. We'll let you know exactly when you're good to go at your visit.

It can be gentle enough for many skin types, but it's not the best fit for everyone, like active acne or certain skin conditions. That's exactly why we assess your skin first. If dermaplaning isn't right for you that day, we'll honestly suggest a better option.

Our single dermaplaning is the classic exfoliation and peach-fuzz removal. The Enhanced version pairs that with extra skin-loving steps for a deeper glow, which is lovely before an event. Your provider will recommend the right one for your skin.

Often, yes. Dermaplaning pairs really nicely with treatments like a chemical peel or a facial, because the smooth surface can let them work even better for a lot of people. We'll map out what makes sense for you, with no pressure to add anything you don't want.

It can. By clearing away the dull, dead surface layer, dermaplaning gives your serums and moisturisers a cleaner canvas, so they can absorb better for many people. We'll talk through which products to use after your visit.

For most people, no. By removing dead skin and surface buildup, it can actually help keep pores clearer. Once in a while skin purges a little as it adjusts, especially if you're new to regular exfoliation. We'll check your skin first to keep things gentle.

It's much more controlled and precise. Our trained aestheticians use a sterile, single-use blade at a careful angle to exfoliate dead skin and lift peach fuzz, not just trim hair. The result tends to be a smoother, brighter finish than at-home shaving.

Just keep it simple. Come with clean skin if you can, and skip strong actives like retinol or acids for a few days before, plus any waxing right beforehand. We'll go over everything when you book, so you'll know exactly how to prep.

We do! Our clinic is in Innisfil, right between Barrie and the rest of Simcoe County, so we see lots of clients from Barrie, Bradford, and beyond. Easy to get to, free parking, and a warm welcome every time.

You're so welcome here. A ton of our dermaplaning clients are first-timers. We take it slow, explain everything, answer every question, and only start when you feel ready. No judgment, ever.

Our facials are gentle, but timing matters. We will reschedule you if you have an active breakout, a cold sore, or any infected or broken skin, and we hold off on dermaplaning if your skin is very sensitive or your rosacea is flaring, since the exfoliation can stir that up. If you have had a peel, laser, or a real sunburn recently, let us know so we can give your skin time to settle first. When in doubt, tell us at check-in and we will pick the treatment that suits your skin that day.

Most people walk out glowing with maybe a little pinkness that fades within a few hours. If your skin runs sensitive you might feel slightly more red or notice a small breakout in the next day or two as things turn over, which usually settles on its own. Keep it simple and wear sunscreen. Please call us if redness or swelling is not calming down, if you see any blistering or a spot that looks infected, or if a cold sore appears, so we can take a look and help.
