Facial Scars
The mark a moment left behind.
A surgery that healed, a fall as a kid, chickenpox you barely remember, but the scar still shows up in the mirror every day. Maybe it's raised, maybe it's a little dip you can feel with a fingertip, maybe it just catches the light differently. You're so not alone, and the good news is there's a lot we can do to help soften it, gently and over time.

CONCERN & CAUSES
Why Scars Form and Linger
When the skin heals from a cut, surgery, or infection, it can lay down collagen unevenly, and that patch doesn't always blend back with the skin around it. You end up with different kinds of scars, and each one tends to respond to a slightly different approach.
01
Surgical Scars
The fine lines left after a procedure heals. They often flatten on their own over months, and collagen-building treatments can help soften and blend the texture for a lot of people.
02
Injury & Traumatic Scars
Marks from a fall, cut, or accident, where the skin repaired itself in a hurry. Depth and shape vary a lot, so we check yours closely and set expectations honestly.
03
Chickenpox Scars
Small, soft, round dips scattered across the skin, usually shallow. Their gentle depth means they can respond nicely to collagen-building work over a series for many people.
04
Raised & Textured Scars
Some scars sit slightly raised or feel firm to the touch, with texture that shows in certain light. These often need a personalized plan, so we look at yours before we recommend anything.
Treatment Benefits
Gentle options for facial scars in Innisfil
Scars rarely respond to just one thing. Your provider looks at your scar type, depth, and how it healed first, then maps out a collagen-building plan so each step builds on the last. No pressure, just real talk and a plan that fits your skin.

Microneedling
Controlled micro-channels that trigger your skin's repair response and prompt fresh collagen where a scar has healed unevenly.
Best for shallow to moderate scars and rough texture, and often the gentlest place to start for many people.
The healing response rebuilds collagen and elastin, so scars can gradually soften and blend over a spaced series for most people.
Expect a day or two of redness per session. A short spaced series on settled skin gives the steadiest result, and daily SPF protects every bit of progress.

Microneedling with PRP
Microneedling paired with platelet-rich plasma from your own blood, applied to support the skin's repair and collagen work.
A nice step up for anyone wanting a little extra from their microneedling, often for deeper or more stubborn facial scars.
Your own growth factors can encourage a stronger healing response, which may improve texture and softness over a series for many people.
Similar to microneedling, with a short blood draw first. A day or two of redness per session, and results build gradually across a spaced series.

SylfirmX for Scars
RF microneedling that delivers radiofrequency energy at controlled depths to where scar tissue has replaced healthy collagen.
Great for deeper or indented facial scars, and often the strongest single option when microneedling alone isn't quite enough.
The energy nudges your skin to rebuild collagen from inside, so indented scars can gradually fill and smooth over a series for many people.
Expect a few days of redness per session. Results build over a spaced series, and daily SPF protects every bit of progress.

How to protect your skin after treatment
Collagen work rebuilds scar tissue over a series, but fresh skin is sensitive and new collagen takes weeks to settle. These simple habits keep your barrier happy and protect every bit of progress.
Cleanse Gently
Use a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser with lukewarm water and a soft touch. It keeps treated skin calm while it recovers, which can help your results settle.
Treat Texture Daily
Once your skin settles, a retinol can support the same collagen turnover we started in clinic. Build it in slowly, and keep it consistent rather than aggressive, and texture can keep improving for many people.
Hydrate the Barrier
A strong barrier holds results and handles treatment better. Layer a hyaluronic acid serum under your moisturiser to keep skin resilient between sessions.
Mask Strategically
Soothing, hydrating masks support recovery between visits. Use them once or twice a week, and skip harsh scrubs while your skin is still remodelling.
Protect Daily
Broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher, reapplied every couple of hours outdoors, is a non-negotiable on treated skin. Sun on a healing scar can darken it and slow your results.

FAQ
Common questions about
facial scar treatment
Honestly, most scars can be softened and blended a lot rather than erased completely. For many people the difference is genuinely meaningful, and we'll always be honest with you about what's realistic for your scar before we start.
We work with lots of scar types, like surgical scars, injury or accident scars, and chickenpox scars, plus the texture that comes with them. Your provider checks yours at your consult and maps out what tends to help most for that kind of scar.
It depends on your scar type and depth, which is exactly what your provider looks at during your consult. For a lot of people it's microneedling to start, with PRP or SylfirmX for deeper or more stubborn scars. We'll map it out together.
Most people see the best results from a series rather than a single session, often a few spaced a few weeks apart. The exact number depends on your scar, and we'll give you a clear plan at your consult.
Usually just a day or two of redness, depending on the treatment and how deep we go. We'll walk you through exactly what to expect so you can plan around it. Daily SPF afterward is a must.
Because we're rebuilding collagen, results build gradually over weeks to months, and they can keep improving across a series for many people. We'll check in along the way to make sure you're tracking nicely.
