What SylfirmX for acne scars can help with

Here's where it shines

pitted and rolling acne scars

Pitted and rolling acne scars

SylfirmX works under the surface to help your skin rebuild, so for a lot of people the texture can soften and smooth over a series.

Treatments+

We pair fine microneedles with radiofrequency energy to gently stimulate collagen where the scarring sits. For most people that means smoother-looking texture that builds gradually over several sessions.

Causes+

When a breakout damages the deeper layers of skin, your body can heal with too little collagen, which leaves a pitted or rolling scar behind.

Real Beauty Rx reviews

What the Beauty Club says

A few words from our Innisfil and Barrie clients.

Natasha has completely mastered the art of combining a results-driven medical treatment without sacrificing the relaxation of a traditional facial treatment. Instead of just waiting around during masks or product activations, she uses that time to melt away every ounce of tension you are holding by adding scalp and shoulder massages. I left with glowing, deeply treated skin and my mind and body super relaxed.

Good questions

Your SylfirmX acne scar questions,
answered

Everything you might be wondering before your first visit. Still curious about something? Just ask us.

Most people find it very manageable. We apply a numbing cream first and give it time to work, so the session feels more warm and prickly than painful. If you're nervous, just tell us and we'll keep you comfortable the whole way.

Acne scarring usually responds best to a series, often a few sessions spaced a few weeks apart, but the exact number depends on your scar type and skin. We'll map out a realistic plan at your consult and adjust it as your skin responds.

SylfirmX for acne scars and hyperpigmentation is priced per session on our Jane menu. Because acne scarring usually needs a series, we'll talk through how many sessions make sense for you and give you a clear plan in writing at your consult.

SylfirmX results build gradually. A lot of people start to notice smoother texture and more even tone within a few weeks, and the results keep building over the series. Results vary, which is why we check in with you along the way.

For most people it's short. Your skin can look pink and feel warm for a day or two, a bit like a mild sunburn. You can usually get back to your normal routine quickly, just with daily SPF and no harsh actives for a few days.

It can. SylfirmX has a mode that targets pigment and the red or brown marks acne can leave behind, so for many people it helps even out tone alongside the scar work. We'll look at your specific marks and be honest about what's realistic.

SylfirmX is generally considered well suited to a wide range of skin tones, including deeper ones, because of how the radiofrequency works. That said, every skin is different, so we assess your tone and history first and personalize your settings to keep things safe and comfortable.

Traditional microneedling uses tiny needles alone, while SylfirmX adds radiofrequency energy that reaches a little deeper. For acne scarring and pigment, that combination can do more for a lot of people. We also offer traditional microneedling, and we'll recommend the right fit for your skin.

They're in the same family of RF microneedling treatments, but they're different devices. We use SylfirmX, which is known for being gentle while still targeting both scarring and pigment. We're happy to talk through why we chose it at your consult.

We'll give you the full rundown at your consult, but generally we ask you to avoid sun and harsh actives like strong retinols or acids for a few days beforehand, and to come in with clean skin. Let us know about any recent treatments or medications too.

We ask you to skip makeup for the first 24 hours so your skin can settle and stay clean. After that you can ease back in, and we'll always send you home with clear aftercare so you know exactly what to do.

It shouldn't, but timing matters. We treat skin that isn't in an active flare, since working over fresh breakouts isn't ideal. If your acne is still active, we'll chat about getting it more settled first, sometimes alongside other treatments.

Often, yes. Lots of our clients pair SylfirmX with facials, peels, or skincare to get the most even result. We'll map out what makes sense for your skin and the right order to do things, with no pressure to add anything you don't want.

RF microneedling has been used safely for skin concerns when it's done by trained professionals. Our team assesses your skin first, chooses settings that suit you, and works under the medical oversight Ontario requires. We'll go over the details and any questions at your consult.

We do! Our clinic is in Innisfil, right between Barrie and the rest of Simcoe County, so we see lots of clients from Barrie, Bradford, and beyond. Easy to get to, free parking, and a warm welcome every time.

You're so welcome here. A ton of our SylfirmX clients are first-timers dealing with acne scars they're finally ready to tackle. We take it slow, explain everything, answer every question, and only start when you feel ready. No judgment, ever.

Yes, and we go through this with you before we book. It is best to wait if you have an active breakout, a cold sore, an open area, or any infection where we would be treating, until your skin has settled. We also ask about a few things in your history: keloid or raised scars, eczema or psoriasis in the area, and whether you have taken Accutane recently, since your skin needs time to heal well first. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we will hold off for now. Because our Sylfirm X uses radiofrequency energy, we cannot treat over a pacemaker or another implanted electronic device, or over metal implants in the treatment area. None of this rules you out for good in most cases. Tell us your full picture and we will let you know if now is the right time or if a short wait is safer for you.

For most people the treated skin looks a little pink and feels warm, a bit like a mild sunburn, and there can be some light swelling. That usually calms down within a day or two, and many people go back to their normal day right away. Some flaking, dryness, or the odd small breakout as your skin renews is normal too. If you have a deeper skin tone, there is a chance of some darkening in the treated spots, so sun protection afterward really matters, and we will talk you through it. Please call us if you notice anything that does not feel right: redness or pain that is getting worse instead of better, spreading heat or swelling, blistering, weeping, signs of infection, or a cold sore starting. We would always rather hear from you and check in than have you wait and wonder.
