Filler Dissolving

Honestly? Barely. It's a few tiny pinches and takes about 15-20 minutes. Most of our clients say it's easier than they expected. If you're nervous, just tell us and we can use ice or numbing to keep you comfy.

We use hyaluronidase, an enzyme that breaks down hyaluronic acid, which is what most modern fillers are made of. Placed into the area, it can gradually dissolve the HA filler so the spot can soften and reset. It only works on HA fillers, not every type of filler out there.

For a lot of people, HA filler can start dissolving within a day or two, and the area usually keeps settling over the following week or so. How quickly it works can vary, which is why we like to check in once things have calmed down.

Filler dissolving is priced on our Jane menu. If you need a larger area treated or more than one session, we'll always confirm your full plan and cost at your consult before we start, so there are no surprises.

Not really. You can head right back to your day. We just ask you to keep the area gentle, skip hard workouts, alcohol, and saunas for about 24 hours, and expect a little redness or swelling that usually fades quickly.

Some swelling and a little redness are normal right after, and they usually settle within a day or two for most people. We'll go over what to expect and what's normal so you're not caught off guard while the area calms down.

Often, yes. Under-eye filler that's sitting too close to the surface can look puffy or take on a bluish tinge, and dissolving can help calm that for some people. The under-eye is delicate, so we go slow and reassess before doing more.

For most people dissolving is straightforward, but there are a couple of things we check first. The main one is a history of a serious reaction to bee or wasp stings, because the medicine we use to dissolve filler is related to something found in insect venom, so there is a small chance of an allergic reaction. If that is you, please tell us, and for a non-urgent dissolve we may suggest checking with an allergist first. We also would not dissolve into skin that is actively infected.
