Facial

Microneedling with PRP

Often called the vampire facial, this one pairs traditional microneedling with PRP, a little bit of your own plasma. The tiny channels help your skin drink it in, so over time your complexion can look fresher, smoother, and more even. Quick visit, easy recovery.

  • About 60-75 minutes with numbing
  • A little redness for 1-2 days
  • Glow tends to build over a few weeks
  • Uses your own plasma

What microneedling with PRP can help with

Here's where it shines

fine lines and wrinkles

Fine lines and early signs of ageing

If you're starting to notice fine lines or skin that just looks a little tired, microneedling with PRP can help your skin look smoother and fresher over time for a lot of people.

Treatments+

The tiny channels prompt your skin's own renewal, and the PRP gives it an extra boost. Results build gradually, so your skin can look refreshed without anything looking done.

Causes+

Time, sun, and the natural slowdown in collagen all play a part in fine lines and that tired look.

Right after

Day 1-2 · a little flush

The visit takes about 60-75 minutes with numbing time. Afterwards your skin can look flushed, a bit like a mild sunburn, and feel warm. For most people that calms down within a day or two.

Skin settles

Week 1-2 · fresh and smooth

Over the first week or two the redness fades and your skin can start to look fresher and feel smoother. How quickly this shows up can vary from person to person.

Glow builds

Month 1-3 · gradual results

The deeper renewal is slower. As your skin makes new collagen over a few weeks, and usually across a small series, tone and texture can keep improving. We'll track your progress together.

What the Beauty Club says

A few words from our Innisfil and Barrie clients.

Natasha has completely mastered the art of combining a results-driven medical treatment without sacrificing the relaxation of a traditional facial treatment. Instead of just waiting around during masks or product activations, she uses that time to melt away every ounce of tension you are holding by adding scalp and shoulder massages. I left with glowing, deeply treated skin and my mind and body super relaxed.

Good questions

Your microneedling with PRP questions,
answered

Everything you might be wondering before your first visit. Still curious about something? Just ask us.

Vampire facial is just the nickname for microneedling combined with PRP. We do traditional microneedling to create tiny channels in your skin, then layer in PRP, a little bit of your own plasma, so your skin can drink it in. The name sounds dramatic, but the treatment itself is gentle and pretty relaxing.

Not really. We apply numbing cream first, so most people feel a warm, prickly sensation rather than pain. There's a quick, simple blood draw too, like at any clinic. Most of our clients say it's way easier than they expected. If you're nervous, just tell us and we'll keep you comfy.

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. We take a small sample of your own blood, spin it in a machine to separate out the plasma, and use that on your skin during microneedling. It's all your own, nothing synthetic, which is part of why so many people love it.

Plan for about 60 to 75 minutes. That includes time for numbing to kick in, the quick blood draw, preparing your PRP, and the treatment itself. The active microneedling part is around 30 minutes. We never rush you out the door.

At Real Beauty Rx, PRP combined with traditional microneedling is priced per session, and traditional microneedling on its own is priced separately on our Jane menu. We'll confirm the right option for you at your consult, and Beauty Club members get member pricing. No surprises, ever.

You might notice a fresh glow within a week or two as the redness settles. The deeper improvements in texture and tone build more gradually over a few weeks, usually across a small series. Results vary, which is why we check in with you along the way.

It depends on your skin and your goals. For general freshness and glow, a few people are happy with one or two visits. For things like acne scars or texture, a series of three or more spaced a few weeks apart usually works better. We'll map out a realistic plan at your consult.

A little. Your skin will look flushed, a bit like a mild sunburn, for a day or two, and might feel warm or tight. Most people are comfortable heading back to normal life the next day. We'll send you home with simple aftercare so your skin heals well.

Keep your skin clean and skip makeup, sweaty workouts, saunas, and harsh products for the first day or so. Use gentle products and plenty of SPF for a few days while your skin settles. We go over all of it with you so you feel totally prepared.

Lots of people use it for fine lines, dull or tired skin, uneven texture, enlarged-looking pores, acne scars, and uneven tone. It can help your complexion look fresher and smoother over time for most people. We'll talk through what's realistic for your skin specifically.

Traditional microneedling on its own renews your skin through those tiny channels. Adding PRP layers in your own plasma to give the process an extra boost, which many people feel gives a fresher result. We offer both, and your provider will recommend what suits your skin and budget.

Microneedling and PRP have been used for many years when they're done by trained professionals. Because the PRP is your own, there's a low risk of reaction. Our team assesses your skin and health history first and works under the medical oversight Ontario requires. We'll go over any questions at your consult.

Often, yes. Lots of our clients pair microneedling with PRP with the right skincare, or alternate it with other treatments over time for a balanced result. We'll map out what makes sense for you and the right order to do things, with no pressure to add anything you don't want.

It's not right for everyone. If you're pregnant, have an active skin infection or certain skin conditions, or take some medications, we may suggest a different option. That's exactly what your consult is for, so we can check your health history and keep you safe.

We do! Our clinic is in Innisfil, right between Barrie and the rest of Simcoe County, so we see lots of clients from Barrie, Bradford, and beyond. Easy to get to, free parking, and a warm welcome every time.

You're so welcome here. A ton of our microneedling with PRP clients are first-timers. We take it slow, explain everything, answer every question, and only start when you feel ready. No judgment, ever.

PRP uses your own blood, so it suits a lot of people, but there are a few times we would pause or say no. We will ask about any bleeding or platelet conditions, and whether you take a blood thinner, since those affect how you heal. We would also wait if you have an active infection or are feeling unwell, and there are some conditions, like certain autoimmune or blood-related ones and active cancer, where PRP is not the right fit. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we will hold off. This is why we take a proper history first. Share it openly with us and we will tell you honestly whether PRP is a good option for you right now or whether something else would serve you better.

It is normal to have some tenderness, a little swelling, and some bruising where we inject, and that usually eases over a few days. If we are treating your scalp for hair, a mild headache or a tender scalp for a day or so is common too. Because we use your own blood, an allergic reaction is very unlikely. Please reach out if anything gets worse rather than better: growing pain, spreading redness or heat, swelling that keeps building, or any sign of infection. For the under-eye area especially, call us right away if you notice changes in your vision. These things are rare, and we would much rather you check in with us early so we can help.
