Marionette Lines

The lines that pull your smile down.

You catch your reflection and the corners of your mouth look like they're heading south, with two little grooves running toward your chin. It can read as tired or serious even on a good day. You're so not alone, this is one of the most common things we chat about, and there's a gentle, no-pressure way to soften it for most people.

CONCERN & CAUSES

Why Marionette Lines Form

These are the creases that run down from the corners of the mouth toward the chin, and they usually show up from a mix of lost volume, gravity, and everyday movement. Different reasons call for a slightly different plan, which is why we assess first.

01

Volume Loss

As collagen and fat pads thin over time, the lower face loses some of its natural support. Without that cushion the skin can fold, and the marionette grooves start to settle in for most people.

02

Gravity & Descent

The cheek and jowl area gradually drifts downward with age, and that extra weight pulls at the corners of the mouth. It's a big part of why the lines can deepen year over year.

03

Repeated Movement

Talking, smiling, and everyday expression crease the same spot thousands of times. Over the years those repeated folds can etch in, a bit like a well-worn page.

04

Chin & Mouth Corners

Sometimes the mouth corners themselves turn down and the chin loses definition. Supporting that whole lower-face frame usually matters more than chasing the line on its own.

Treatment Benefits

Gentle options for marionette lines in Innisfil

Marionette lines rarely respond to just one thing, and they're not usually about the line itself. Your provider assesses your lower face first, maps where the support has been lost, then chooses filler, collagen-building help, or a mix so each step builds on the last. No pressure, just a real plan that fits your face.

Dermal Filler

Dermal Filler

A smooth hyaluronic acid gel placed to replace lost volume and support the corners of the mouth and lower face.

Radiesse

Radiesse

A calcium-based collagen-stimulating filler that lifts the treated area and encourages fresh collagen underneath.

How to look after your filler results

Filler settles over the first couple of weeks, and collagen-building results keep developing for longer. A few easy habits help your filler settle evenly and protect every bit of progress, so your results can hold nicely between visits for most people.

Be Gentle Early On

Be Gentle Early On

For the first couple of days, skip firm pressure, facial massage, saunas, and hot yoga so your filler can settle where it was placed. A light touch while things soften in helps it look even.

Stay Hydrated

Stay Hydrated

Sip water through the day and keep your barrier happy with a hyaluronic acid serum under your moisturiser. Well-hydrated skin tends to hold filler results a little better for most people.

Support Collagen Once Settled

Support Collagen Once Settled

After your skin has fully settled, a medical-grade retinol can support the same collagen turnover we're building on. Ease it in slowly, and keep it steady rather than aggressive.

Protect Daily

Protect Daily

Broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher every morning helps protect the collagen you're supporting from sun breakdown. Reapply every couple of hours outdoors, since UV is hard on results over time.

Keep Results Topped Up

Keep Results Topped Up

Filler softens gradually, so a light top-up on your provider's suggested timeline keeps things looking rested rather than letting the line fully return. We'll map out timing together at your visit.

FAQ

Common questions about
marionette line treatment

They're usually a mix of lost volume, collagen thinning, gravity pulling the lower face down, and years of everyday expression. Because the reasons vary, your provider assesses your lower face first so the plan actually fits what's going on for you.

Good question, people mix them up all the time. Nasolabial folds run from the nose to the corners of the mouth, while marionette lines run from the mouth corners down toward the chin. They often show up together, and we'll look at both at your consult.

It depends on how deep the lines are and where the support has been lost, which is exactly what your provider checks at your visit. For a lot of people it's dermal filler, Radiesse, or a mix. We'll map it out together, no pressure.

It varies with the product and your skin, but filler results often last several months to a year or more for many people. Radiesse can support collagen for a while too. We'll talk through realistic timing and top-ups at your consult.

Usually very little. Some mild swelling, tenderness, or the odd bruise can settle within a few days. We'll walk you through simple aftercare so you can plan around any events, and results vary from person to person.

Most people find it very manageable. We use numbing where it helps and most of our fillers include a comfort agent, so it's easier than a lot of folks expect. If you're nervous, just tell us and we'll go at your pace. We've got you.
