What acne scar treatment can help with

Here's where it shines

rolling and shallow acne scars

Rolling and shallow scars

Resurfacing the surface layer can help smooth them out gradually, so your skin can look more even.

Treatments+

We use a controlled facial peel to gently lift away tired surface skin and encourage fresh, smoother skin to come through. It's gradual, and most people see the best change over a short series.

Causes+

When a breakout heals, the skin underneath can settle unevenly, which leaves those soft rolling dips behind.

Why clients choose us

Real care from a team that gets it

At Real Beauty Rx, you're looked after by an experienced team of nurses, injectors, and aestheticians who genuinely care about how you feel, not just how you look. Warm, honest, and zero judgment, every single visit.

Your treatment is performed by Natasha Grbesa, our Clinic Lead and Medical Aesthetician, with medical oversight from Jennifer Holman, NP. Jennifer is a Nurse Practitioner and Chair of APANS with over 14 years in medicine. We keep it gentle, explain as we go, and never rush you.

We check your skin type and the kind of scarring you have before any peel is planned, so your treatment is built around you. All treatments follow Ontario's medical oversight rules.

Our whole vibe is gentle and gradual. We want your skin to look smoother and more even, while still looking completely like you.

Real Beauty Rx reviews

What the Beauty Club says

A few words from our Innisfil and Barrie clients.

Natasha has completely mastered the art of combining a results-driven medical treatment without sacrificing the relaxation of a traditional facial treatment. Instead of just waiting around during masks or product activations, she uses that time to melt away every ounce of tension you are holding by adding scalp and shoulder massages. I left with glowing, deeply treated skin and my mind and body super relaxed.

Good questions

Your acne scar treatment questions,

Everything you might be wondering before your first visit. Still curious about something? Just ask us.

Honestly? It's pretty gentle. Most people feel a mild tingle or warmth while the peel is on, and it settles quickly. The whole visit takes about 30 to 45 minutes. If you're sensitive or nervous, just tell us and we'll keep you comfy the whole way through.

Your skin often looks fresher within the first week or two as the surface renews. The smoothing of scars and evening of tone is more gradual and builds over a short series. Results vary from person to person, which is why we check in with you along the way.

It depends on your skin and the kind of scarring you have. A lot of people see the best results over a short series of peels spaced a few weeks apart. We'll map out a realistic plan at your consult and adjust as we see how your skin responds.

For most people, this treatment can soften the look of scarring and even out tone rather than erase scars completely. How much you'll see depends on your skin and the type of scarring, so we'll be honest with you about what's realistic at your consult.

Our acne scar treatment is priced per session, confirmed at your consultation. If a series suits your skin, we'll lay out the full plan and pricing at your consult so there are no surprises, and Beauty Club members get member pricing.

For most people it's minimal. Your skin might look a little flushed or feel slightly tight afterward, and some light flaking can happen over the first week as it renews. You can usually head right back to your day, just keep it gentle and wear your SPF.

It varies. Some people get light flaking for a few days, others barely peel at all. We'll tell you what to expect for your specific peel and skin type, and we'll give you simple aftercare so it settles comfortably.

We usually ask you to give your skin a little breathing room for the first day or so while it renews. After that, most people are back to their normal routine. We'll give you a clear timeline based on the peel you had.

It tends to help most with shallow rolling scars, post-acne dark marks, rough texture, and dull-looking skin. Deeper or more stubborn scarring can sometimes respond better to other treatments, which is why we assess your skin first and recommend what fits.

We assess every skin type carefully before choosing a peel, because some skin tones need a gentler approach to avoid pigment changes. Our team personalizes the treatment to your skin and works under the medical oversight Ontario requires. We'll go over the details at your consult.

Great question. This treatment is a facial peel that resurfaces the surface of your skin, while SylfirmX is a radiofrequency microneedling device that works deeper for tougher scarring. Your provider will assess your scarring and recommend which one, or which combination, fits your skin. You can read more on our SylfirmX for Acne Scars page.

Often, yes. Lots of our clients pair their peels with other skin treatments or microneedling for a more complete result. We'll map out what makes sense for your skin and the right order to do things, with no pressure to add anything you don't want.

We'll give you simple guidance at your consult, which usually means pausing certain active skincare ingredients and avoiding strong sun for a bit before your peel. A little prep helps your skin respond well and keeps things comfortable.

Absolutely. Plenty of our clients are guys dealing with acne scarring, texture, or marks. We personalize the peel to your skin and keep the whole experience comfortable and no pressure.

We do! Our clinic is in Innisfil, right between Barrie and the rest of Simcoe County, so we see lots of clients from Barrie, Bradford, and beyond. Easy to get to, free parking, and a warm welcome every time.

You're so welcome here. A ton of our acne scar treatment clients are first-timers. We start gentle, explain everything, answer every question, and only begin when you feel ready. No judgment, ever.

Yes, and we go through this with you before we book. It is best to wait if you have an active breakout, a cold sore, an open area, or any infection where we would be treating, until your skin has settled. We also ask about a few things in your history: keloid or raised scars, eczema or psoriasis in the area, and whether you have taken Accutane recently, since your skin needs time to heal well first. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, we will hold off for now. None of this rules you out for good in most cases. Tell us your full picture and we will let you know if now is the right time or if a short wait is safer for you.

For most people the treated skin looks a little pink and feels warm, a bit like a mild sunburn, and there can be some light swelling. That usually calms down within a day or two, and many people go back to their normal day right away. Some flaking, dryness, or the odd small breakout as your skin renews is normal too. If you have a deeper skin tone, there is a chance of some darkening in the treated spots, so sun protection afterward really matters, and we will talk you through it. Please call us if you notice anything that does not feel right: redness or pain that is getting worse instead of better, spreading heat or swelling, blistering, weeping, signs of infection, or a cold sore starting. We would always rather hear from you and check in than have you wait and wonder.
