Acne Scars
The marks the breakouts left behind.
The breakouts finally calmed down, but the skin underneath did not bounce back the way you hoped. Little dips you can feel with a fingertip, texture that catches the light, shadows that show up in every photo. You're so not alone, and the good news is there's a lot we can do to help, gently and over time.

CONCERN & CAUSES
Why Acne Leaves Scars
When a breakout goes deep, it can damage the collagen under the skin, and that area doesn't always heal back evenly. You end up with different kinds of scars, and each one likes a slightly different approach.
01
Ice Pick Scars
Narrow, deep little pits that look like the skin was pricked with a fine point. They reach far down, which makes them the most stubborn type, so we set expectations honestly.
02
Boxcar Scars
Wider dips with sharper edges, a bit like small craters, often on the cheeks. Their medium depth means they tend to respond well to collagen-building treatments for a lot of people.
03
Rolling Scars
Broad, shallow waves that give the skin an uneven, rolling look. Little bands underneath tug the skin down, so the goal is to release them and rebuild support.
04
Mixed Texture
Most people have a few types at once, plus leftover marks and rough texture. That's why one tool rarely does it all, and we usually layer a couple of approaches.
Treatment Benefits
Layered options for acne scars in Innisfil
Acne scars rarely respond to just one thing. Your provider maps out your scar types and depth first, then we combine collagen-building and resurfacing so each step builds on the last. No pressure, just a real plan that fits your skin.

SylfirmX for Acne Scars
RF microneedling that delivers radiofrequency energy at controlled depths to where scar tissue has replaced healthy collagen.
Great for moderate to deeper indented scars, and often the strongest single option for a mix of boxcar and rolling scars.
The energy nudges your skin to rebuild collagen from inside, so dips can gradually fill and smooth over a series for many people.
Expect a few days of redness per session. Results build over a spaced series, and daily SPF protects every bit of progress.

Microneedling
Controlled micro-channels that trigger your skin's repair response and collagen remodelling.
Best for shallow to moderate scarring and rough texture, often as a refining layer alongside SylfirmX.
The healing response rebuilds collagen and elastin, improving surface texture and softer scars over a series.
A day or two of redness per session. A short spaced series on settled skin gives the steadiest result.

Acne Scar Treatment
A targeted treatment for acne scarring and post-acne texture, customised to your skin.
For anyone wanting to address scarring and texture, often layered with SylfirmX or microneedling.
We personalize the approach to your scar types so the surface refines while deeper work rebuilds structure.
A short in-clinic visit, usually as part of a series, with simple aftercare and daily sun protection.

Chemical Peel
A clinical-grade peel that lifts dull, uneven surface cells and refines tone and texture.
Used alongside deeper treatments to smooth the surface while collagen work rebuilds underneath.
The peel sheds pigmented, uneven cells so fresher skin can surface, refining tone and texture together.
A short visit, usually in a series. Light flaking for a few days is normal, and SPF is a must.

How to protect your skin after treatment
Collagen work rebuilds scar tissue over a series, but fresh skin is sensitive and new collagen takes weeks to settle. These simple habits keep your barrier happy and protect every bit of progress.
Cleanse Gently
Use a gentle, pH-balanced cleanser with lukewarm water and a soft touch. It keeps treated skin calm while it recovers.
Treat Texture Daily
Once your skin settles, a retinol can support the same collagen turnover we started in clinic. Build it in slowly, and keep it consistent rather than aggressive.
Hydrate the Barrier
A strong barrier holds results and handles treatment better. Layer a hyaluronic acid serum under your moisturiser to keep skin resilient between sessions.
Mask Strategically
Soothing, hydrating masks support recovery between visits. Use them once or twice a week, and skip harsh scrubs while your skin is still remodelling.
Protect Daily
Broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher, reapplied every couple of hours outdoors, is a non-negotiable on treated skin. Sun on healing skin can darken it and slow your results.

Medical-Grade Skin Protocol
Ask our team about a simple medical-grade routine (a retinol plus daily SPF) that supports the same collagen turnover your in-clinic treatments start, helping hold your results between sessions.

FAQ
Common questions about
acne scar treatment
Honestly, most acne scars can be softened and improved a lot rather than erased completely. For many people the difference is genuinely life-changing, and we'll always be honest with you about what's realistic for your skin before we start.
It depends on your scar types and depth, which is exactly what your provider checks at your consult. For a lot of people it's a combination, like SylfirmX for deeper scars plus microneedling or a peel to refine texture. We'll map it out together.
Most people see the best results from a series rather than a single session, often a few spaced a few weeks apart. The exact number depends on your scars, and we'll give you a clear plan at your consult.
Usually just a few days of redness, depending on the treatment and how deep we go. We'll walk you through exactly what to expect so you can plan around it. Daily SPF afterward is a must.
Most people find it very manageable. We use numbing where it helps and keep you comfy the whole time. If you're nervous, just tell us and we'll go at your pace.
Because we're rebuilding collagen, results build gradually over weeks to months, and they keep improving across a series for many people. We'll check in along the way to make sure you're tracking nicely.
